FAQ |
My report is not printed well...
Q: The report looks good on-screen but when it
is sent to the printer the printed report is
disordered.
A: The reason is usually a problem in the
printer driver. Try to download and install an
updated version of your printer driver. In many
cases you may install a driver for the same
family of printers but for an older version
printer (eg. if you have the HP 840C Deskjet
installing a driver for the HP 600 printer may
solve the problem).
Error Message
Q: I get an error message when I run the
software., what should I do ?
A: Restart the computer and then run the
software again. If the error message still
appears try to reinstall the software (without
uninstalling it). If the error is still there,
send an e-mail to our support address with
details, where in the software the error happens
and it can be recreated.
Sending a plan to another computer by
e-mail
Q: I want to send the plan that I did to my
colleague by e-mail
A: each plan that you do with the Business
Planner is saved to a file with the name that
you give to it and with the extension .bpf. By
default, the plan files are saved in sub-folder
Plans under the software folder which is under
Program Files/Planium. To send the plan file to
a colleague, open the e-mail application that
you use and attach the plan file to it. Your
colleague must have the Business Planner
installed in order to open the file that you
sent.
Receiving a plan file sent by e-mail
Q: My colleague sent me a plan file that he
prepared with the Business Planner, how do I
open it ?
A: First, you need to have the Business Planner
installed on you computer. When you have
received the e-mail with the plan file attached
to it, you should save the attachment to the
hard disk and use the Windows Explorer to move
the file to sub-folder Plans under the software
folder which is under Program Files/Planium. Now
when you run the Business Planner and select
File-Open in the menu, you will see the file in
the Plans sub-folder and you will be able to
open it.
Sending a plan to another computer by a
USB memory disk
Q: I want to take the plan that I did to my home
computer, using a USB memory disk.
A: As mentioned above, each plan that you do
with the Business Planner is saved to a file
with the name that you give to it and with the
extension .bpf. By default, the plan files are
saved in sub-folder Plans under the software
folder. Use the Windows Explorer to copy the
plan file from the Plans sub-folder to the USB
memory disk. When you arrive at home, use the
Windows Explorer to copy the file from the
memory disk to the Plans sub-folder on your home
computer.
Note: it is much better to use the Windows
Explorer to copy the file to and from the memory
disk than using the Save As option in the
Business Planner to save to the memory disk or
open from the memory disk. It will prevent
problems that may happen when the memory disk is
removed from the computer.
Sending the plan to a colleague that
doesn't have the Business Planner installed
Q: how can I send the plan to a colleague that
doesn't have the Business Planner installed.
A: First, try to convince your colleague to
purchase and install the Business Planner. You
shouldn't enjoy this magnificant software only
by yourself. If your colleague still doesn't
have the software (we know he will buy it sooner
or later...) you can export the plan reports to
a file with PDF format and send the created file
to him. Most users have the Acrobat Reader
Installed and they can read such a file. How can
you create the PDF file ? By installing a PDF
utility that enable to print anything to a PDF
file instead of to the printer. If you don't
have such a utility yet, you can get a free one
from
http://www.pdf995.com/download.html
which is
recommended also by Microsoft. Once you have it
installed, you create the required reports using
the Report Table and when you see the reports
on-screen in the Preview screen, click the Print
button and select the PDF995 as the printer.
Another way to send the reports is by exporting
them to an MS-Word document. This is explained
in the next question.
Export reports to MS-Excel or to MS-Word
Q: I want to use tables from the plan in my
Business Plan document, how can I do it?
A: You can export reports that you create with
the Business Planner to Excel and to MS-Word. In
the toolbar of most of the screens, there is a
button with Excel icon on it. When you click it
the table that you see on screen will be
exported to MS-Excel and presented to you in
Excel. You can use copy and paste to copy the
table from Excel to the Business Plan document.
You can also export reports to MS-Word format.
Open the Options menu and select Preferences. In
the Preferences screen select System tab and
check the option "Enable export reports to
MS-Word". When this option is checked you can
now create a report, either by clicking the
Print button on the toolbar of the required
screen, or you can open the Report table and
select the required reports and click the
Display button. Once the reports are presented
on-screen, click the Export button and select
export to MS-Word. Click OK and the report will
be export to Word format and presented to you in
MS-Word.
Markets are not seen in the Sales Plan
screen
Q: I can't see markets that I entered in the
Market table when I open the Sales Plan screen.
A: Probably you didn't save and close the Market
table after you entered the markets. In each
screen when you are through with entering the
data it is recommended to click the green Save
and Exit button in order to ensure that the data
is saved and be used in the successive screens.
